Assembly Bill 1813 (Ward) passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee today, clearing a critical hurdle on its way to the Assembly Floor.

Below is a statement from CLASS Executive Director Derek Chernow:

“Today’s vote moves California one step closer to lower energy bills for renters, small businesses, and working families who have been locked out of the more affordable clean energy economy. A new poll released this week confirms what we’ve sensed for a long time: Support for community solar is not partisan. In fact, 80% of Californians – with overwhelming support from both Republicans and Democrats – support letting local resources like community solar compete directly with traditional utilities to bring down costs. AB 1813 turns that mandate into action.”

Please reach out if you would like to discuss community solar legislation with Derek Chernow or any of the CLASS members.
